We are currently working on the detail of our Business Plan to 2030 with the intention of presenting the final business plan to our AGM in September.
The four core goals that will drive BWCE’s business plan, currently under development, are:
1. Expand BWCE’s community renewable energy capacity
By 2028: 20MW of new community renewables
By 2030: 50MW of new community renewables (including wind turbines, ground mount solar and rooftop solar). Our current pipeline of projects, if they come to fruition, will exceed this target.
2. Establish and scale viable local energy markets for BWCE’s renewable generation
By 2028: Complete at least one full local energy supply pilot project
By 2030: Establish multiple local supply projects integrating battery storage where possible
3. Create a financially viable community based energy efficiency retrofit service
By 2028: Complete the current grant funded retrofit pilot
By 2030: Establish a financially viable service
4. Build a sustainable, resilient and impactful BWCE able to manage growth and scale impact, whilst retaining a positive working culture and strong external partnerships based on trust and transparency.
We plan to hold a member’s forum in June to discuss the emerging thinking in more detail.
At this stage we would welcome any questions members and non-members might have on these overarching goals and feedback on how they have been framed.
We will respond to any questions or feedback in the next BWCE newsletter. Please send your questions/feedback by Thu 22nd May and put ‘Business Plan’ in the subject line of your email.
