What’s a Home Energy Neighbourhood?
A Home Energy Neighbourhood is a small group of neighbours with similar homes who come together to learn how to improve their energy efficiency – with expert support from BWCE throughout.
You may have already had a home energy assessment with us, or we can book one for you at a discounted rate.* You then invite neighbours over (we’ll provide an invitation template) for a relaxed get-together at your home.
It’s a simple, informal session – we'll help you organise it and guide the discussion. At the get-together, you will:

Learn from a qualified home energy assessor
Share ideas and experiences
Talk through next steps, from quick wins to bigger upgrades
Enjoy a catering budget
We can also help you explore next steps, including group quotes if useful.
Why do this together?
Home Energy Neighbourhoods bring together people living in similar homes, so you can learn what upgrades actually work and make confident decisions – with support from our expert assessors.
This approach is at the heart of our work as a not-for-profit community organisation where we support and facilitate collaboration.
Our goal is to help people with similar homes to save time, reduce costs, and make energy upgrades more manageable and even enjoyable!
How it works

Tell us a bit about your home and your neighbourhood. We’ll then book you in for a discounted home energy assessment if you’ve not had one yet.*
2. Plan your get-together
We'll help you organise a friendly session and provide a catering budget.
3. Learn and take action together
You’ll leave with ideas for what to do next and where to get ongoing support.
*Discounted assessments available
Hosting a get-together gives you access to:
£100 for a Heat Pump Assessment or £160 for a Futureproof Survey
(compared to typical price of £260–£460 for a 4-bed home).
